Joy Mwesigwa is a Ugandan Womens' rights Activist. She is the Director of the Kampala School of the physically Handicapped that caters for Special Needs Education for children with disabilities. Background and EducationJoy is the Founder of Kampala School of the Handicapped that was started thirty years ago.Rehabilitation,therapy and vocational training are some of the activities in the school.Joy remarks that she is just more than a teacher. She is a Mentor and Parent. The school is located in Namirembe a surburb in Kampala and it caters for hundreds of students with conditions like celebral palsy,autism,spina bifida and downs syndrome. AchievementsJoy Mwesigwa is the Winner of Women for Women Awards[1] first prize in Academics[2] which was presided at the residence of the French Ambassador to Uganda Her Excellency Stephanie Rivoal.
