Justin Guterding (born February 3, 1995 in Garden City, New York) is an American professional lacrosse player who plays for the Ohio Machine in Major League Lacrosse and the Philadelphia Wings of the National Lacrosse League. Guterding attended high school at Garden City High School in Garden City, New York. Guterding's father, Joseph, played goalie for Penn State.

College career

Duke University

As a freshman in 2015, Guterding led the Duke Blue Devils high powered offense with 52 goals. Guterding became just the 5th Blue Devil to become the ACC Frehsman of the Year. Opening his college career with 6 goals against High Point University, Guterding went on to score at least 3 goals in 10 games that season. In 2016, Guterding garnered his first All American and All ACC honors, scoring 71 points, which was 2nd in the ACC that year. During this season, Guterding became the fastest Blue Devil to 100 career points, doing so in just 25 games. He also became the only Blue Devil to record at least 70 points in each of his first two seasons.

In 2017, Guterding once again was named to the All American and All ACC team. He scored 97 points (51 goals, 46 assists), leading the ACC in points, goals, and assists, which was the 4th person to do this in league history. 2018 was Guterding's best year by far. He became a 1st Team All-American, Tewaaraton Finalist, ACC Player of the Year, and ACC Scholar Athlete of the Year. Guterding broke nearly every record in the Duke record books, while also breaking the NCAA record for Career Goals, which was previously 206. Guterding became the 2nd player in NCAA history to score 200 goals, became the fastest player to 200 and 300 points in Duke history, and scored the most points in a season by any Blue Devil (113). Guterding led his team to the Final Four, where they eventually fell to Yale 13-11 in the National Championship.

MLL career

The Ohio Machine selected Guterding with the ninth pick overall in the 2018 MLL draft. Guterding went on to play 7 games during the 2018 season, and scoring 28 points (18 goals, 10 assists).

NLL

Guterding was drafted 28th overall in the 2018 NLL entry draft by the Philadelphia Wings.
