The village where the hidden historical leader Narayanasamy S/o. Sankara Gounder(29.11.1920 - 17.02.1997) and his family members were living in Kalitheerthal Kuppam. on 5th April, 1954 during the freedom struggle movement against French India Government the veteran leader Narayanasamy S/o. Sankara Gounder under his leadership with two members crew attacked and seized thousands of weapons from the Tribuvane French Police Station through gunfire and liberated a part of French collared Pondicherry region of Tribuvane Commune (renamed after liberation as Mannadipet Commune by the "Temporary United Government") consisting of 42 villages with population of 23,000 and an extent of 24.50 square miles; and established the First French Liberation Government and took assumption of charge as Executive Minister by forming three members Ministry with portfolio and hoisted the first Indian National Tri-Colour Flag over Tribuvane French Police Station and ruled over the Commune by keeping Tribuvane Commune Panchayat Office as Administrative Head Quarter Building with effect from 6th April, 1954 onwards in Tribuvane Commune, Pondicherry.
