Early CareerUnlike many predominant names in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Kaori Hernandez started training by total chance. Her parents owned a dry cleaners in Pasadena called Kingdom Cleaners. This business saw many different sorts of customers, one of whom was Orlando Sanchez. Wanting to grow his school in Pasadena he asked Kaori's parents if they would have her train at his school which was conveniently close to the cleaners. In no time at all she was training at Gracie Barra Pasadena. Kaori Hernandez immediately started showing great promise and her professor took notice. He would talk to Kaori and her parents about having her compete in a local competition. At first all three shrugged it off the notion, but with a bit of persistence from her professor she was signed up for her first competition at 11 years old and in addition, this was only 6 months after she began training. Kaori Hernandez walked in to this competition held at Pasadena High School brandishing her yellow belt. Kaori Hernandez walked away with the Gold medal and thus began her first winning streak where she grabbed the attention of many and was able to pick up a few sponsors. One sponsor was a person trainer Ron Le. Ron Le also noticed her potential and took her as a sponsored athlete in early March, 2013. Another sponsorship she attained was with Defense Soap on March 21, 2013. From here Kaori Hernandez would face her long and difficult road of a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competitor. Education
CurrentAs of November 6th 2018 Kaori Hernandez is studying Business and Economics with an emphasis in Management at California State University Los Angeles. She currently brandishes 5 World Titles, 2 Pan Championship Titles, and 1 European Championship Title. She has maintained her sponsorship with personal trainer Ron Le throughout the years and is currently working for him as a coach. As a coach she teaches her clients the fundamentals of living a healthy life such as how to eat right and work out safely. She is also a coach at her original school of Gracie Barra Pasadena as well being a coach at Gracie Barra La Cañada Flintridge, and Gracie Barra West Covina. She teaches toddler's jiu jitsu as well as children's jiu jitsu classes Accomplishments
