Karin Kahlhofer (* 28. March 1943; † 23. April 2017) was a German painter, sculptor and action artist. Career Karin Kahlhofer studied painting and sculpture with Gerhard Hoehme and Karl Otto Götz at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf from 1961-1965, before becoming a Master Student of the German artist Joseph Beuys in Düsseldorf. Since 1965 Kahlhofer participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions. Her many study trips to European and non-European countries show that dealing with other cultures is an essential part of her work.
