In the ambush 10 Macedonian military reservists were killed and three injured and as a result of the defense, 2 of the insurgents died and ten were injured. This event is known as one of the worst in the recent history of the Republic of Macedonia. Less then a week later the Ohrid Framework Agreement was signed that ended the 2001 insurgency in the Republic of Macedonia. A few events that occurred, related to the ambush, lead to the assumption that the ambush was planned and helped from the inside of the Macedonian homeland security system. See also
