Katrina Dowd is an American Women’s Lacrosse player from Yorktown Heights, N.Y.. She attended Northwestern University from 2009-2010. She is currently University of North Carolina offensive coordinator and draw specialist coach which was announced August 3, 2018.

College

Dowd played for Northwestern University from 2007-2010 and quickly become one of the top all-around players in program history. She was the 10th member of the Northwestern 200-point club. She had the sixth most points of all-time at 267 career points. With 209 goals she was ranked fourth in most goals of all time in program history and is tied for ninth in assists with 58. She is ranked eighth in program history with 113 ground balls, 57 caused turnovers and 83 draw controls. She is ranked second nationally in points, goals and 5.24 points per game on average. She also recorded a hat trick in 17 games while playing for Northwestern.

Coaching

Dowd was the assistant coach at Syracuse University in 2012 and a Brand Manager for Harrow Sports in 2011.

Dowd was an assistant coach for North Carolina Women's Lacrosse for four seasons from 2013-16, helping lead the Tar Heels to NCAA titles in 2013 and 2016.

Dowd spent two years as University of Oregon’s head coach. She went 18-17 during here tenure as head coach at Oregon leading the team to it’s first Pac-12 tournament where they lost to Colorado in the second round.^[2]

Dowd left as Oregon’s head coach in July of 2018 saying in a press release,“I am grateful for the opportunity to be the head coach at Oregon, and I have certainly had a great experience. I enjoyed working with our tremendous group of student-athletes, and leaving them is a very difficult decision. At this time, I am interested in pursuing other opportunities, but I will always have great memories from my time at Oregon.”^[3]

As of August 2018, she is the offensive coordinator and draw specialist at UNC Chapel Hill.

World Games

Dowd was the assistant coach on the 2017 World Cup silver medalist Canadian National Team.
