She started having this "headache" when she was five, and when she tried to explain it, the adults never understood. When Sophie, a high school senior, gets dragged on a school trip to a museum in Balboa Park, Sophie has a bad time. She listens to music to tune out the noise, but unfortunately, Mr. Sweeney catches her doing that, and forces her to explain the Lambeosaurus. She is okay because she has photographic memory, and she recites the facts from the information plate. Sophie leaves the group, and outside, meets a boy named Fitz who is reading the recent newspaper. Fitz acts weird, and Sophie begins to suspect something because she can't hear his thoughts. Then a car almost hit Sophie, but at the last moment, turns around, and sideswipes a streetlight instead. But the lantern falls, and Sophie manages to use telekinesis to hold it up. Now Fitz explains everything, and Sophie gets leaped to the elves' world. After a tour of a city, Sophie returns to the human world, only to find her mom, who is scolding her. Sophie lies and gets out of trouble. The next day, Sophie finds Fitz outside. Unfortunately, a jogger passes by, and tries to grab Sophie when Fitz leaps her out of there. AcceptanceWhen Sophie arrives, Fitz's dad, Alden, who is also a Telepath, tries to probe (look at memories) her mind, but he can't. After a discussion, Alden sends them to Atlantis, where Quinlin again tries to probe her. He can't. Quinlin jokes about Sophie becoming a Keeper due to her impenetrable mind. Sophie shows the Council by reading Bronte's mind. Bronte is a member of the Council. Many of the councilmembers are surprised due to the fact that an Ancient mind is almost impenetrable. Alden says, "The key word is most." The Council agrees to admit Sophie to Foxfire, their school, on a provisional basis. Preparation for FoxfireAfter Grady and Edaline adopt Sophie, they go to Slurps and Burps. There, they find an arrogant family, who claims that the balding juice that another boy put in their child's lushberry juice on Friday was from the shop. The shopkeeper manages to restore order, and the boy, whose name is Dex, gets to tweak the Hairoids. Dex is sneaky and puts some more vials of ingredients. Dex says, "This will make her hair grow faster. But this will also make her grow a beard." Sophie makes a mental note to never get on Dex's bad side. Dex comes over and Sophie quickly makes friends with him. They arrange to walk together to school. Foxfire school lifeExileEverblazeNeverseenLodestarNightfallFlashbackCharacters
