Kelly Tousmanoff ( Greek: Αγγελική (Κέλυ) Τουσμάνωφ, Born January 14, 1974) is a greek operatic dramatic coloratura soprano.

Early life and education

Kelly Tousmanoff was born in Athens Greece by Greek parents. Her surname is of Russian origin and comes from her grandfather.

She graduated from Apollonio Conservatory of Athens. In the early years, she was under the supervision of tenor Yiannis Tokmakidis. Later, at his instigation and having obtained excellent foundations, she continued her studies with world famous Greek baritone Kostas Paschalis and répétiteur Bilio Moraitis, with whom she received her diploma in 2001 with honours and the institutions' First Prize.

In 2002 she attended a master class with the world famous German mezzo soprano Christa Ludwig.

In 2003 she received a scholarship from the Athens Megaron Concert Hall under the presidency of the late Christos Lambrakis to continue her studies with renowned soprano Maria Luisa Cioni and répétiteur conductor and composer, maestro Roberto Negri in Milan, Italy.

Career

In 1998, while she was still studying at the Conservatory, she was hired in the choir of the National Opera House of Greece (Ε.Λ.Σ.) for productions at Athens Megaron Concert Hall and the Odeon of Herodes Atticus.

Since 2002 she has appeared in many concerts in Greece and in the foyer of the National Opera House of Greece (Ε.Λ.Σ.), as a part of a concert series named "New Lyric Singers", as well as in a concert at the Academy of Athens.

She made her international debut at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London in 2003 as a part of the "Greek stars at the opera" concert along with the London Philharmonia Orchestraunder Greek chief conductor Vassilis Christopoulos.

In 2004 she collaborated with Greek composer Leo Kottakis to record his work "The Last Voyage" inspired by the poetry of Constantine P. Cavafy in London and presented it live at the Embassy of Egypt in Athens. In the same year she was given the cover of the opera La traviata by Giuseppe Verdi, in Athens Megaron Concert Hall.

In 2005 she collaborated with famous crossover tenor Mario Fragoulis and the Thessaloniki City Symphony Orchestra under the direction of conductor Richard Balcombe for two concerts at the Thessaloniki Concert Hall.

In 2006 she collaborated again with famous crossover tenor Mario Fragoulis along with the Orchestra and Choir of the Novaya Opera of Moscow under the direction of conductor Evgeny Samoilov..^[1][2][3]

In 2014 she collaborated with the [https://www.fek.gr/organizationalstructure/orchestra/ensemblesorch?lang=en Orchestra of the Philharmonic Society of Corfu] for a concert at the Municipal Theater of Corfu under the direction of conductor Alkis Baltas.^[5] In the same year she was commissioned to sing at the premiere of the Oratorio Conventus - 1864, composer Zorzes Katris^{[6][7] [8]}at the Municipal Theater of Pireaus and also in the Municipal Theater of Corfu under the direction of conductor Dimitris Chalkias. In 2018 she collaborated with the Corfu Philharmonic Kapodistrias under the direction of conductor Dimitris Papikinos for a concert dedicated to the honorary awarding of the Tirana Archbishop Anastasios in Achillion, as well as for a concert at the Municipal Theater of Corfu.^[10][11]

Personal life

Kelly Tousmanoff is married to Dimitrios Merianos. They have one child and they are currently living from 2010 in Corfu Greece.
