It was a long-standing model in Kawasaki's lineup, having been introduced in 1988, seeing very few revisions other than the exterior color along the way until the end of its production in 2006. The KLF300 is designed for off road utility use in rugged terrains. The KLF300 was offered as a 4x2 in 1988 and became Kawasaki's first 4x4 quad in 1989.
