Yuriy Kotyk (born 24 July 1970 in Rava-Ruska) is a public figure, head of the board of the International public organization «Cultural Research Center of Ukraine and China «LanHua». In 2012, Yuriy Kotyk founded the "Cultural Research Center of Ukraine and China "LanHua", which deals with popularization of Chinese culture in Ukraine and Ukrainian art and culture on the territory of China. The organization has 2 branches in China (in the cities of Zhenjiang and Shanghai) and 14 branches on the territory of Ukraine. The First Ukrainian House in China (Shanghai, 2013) was created and the largest festival in Europe "Chinese New Year in Ukraine" (Chun Zhe's Spring festival) was launched within the framework of the organization's activity. There is the only Ukrainian-language newspaper about the PRC in Ukraine which is called "Amazing China". Yuriy Kotyk works closely with the Silk Road Cities Alliance, Silk Road Chamber of International Commerce and China Trade Association on the behalf of the International public organization «Cultural Research Center of Ukraine and China «LanHua». Social activitiesHe organized a lot of exhibitions of artists and sculptors both in Ukraine and in the PRC. He was engaged in the organization of the arrival of artists from the China Central Academy of Fine Arts headed by the rector of the academy Fan Di'an, helped in conducting their plein-airs which blended in with the "Meeting on the Dnipro" exhibition which was exhibited at the Gugong Palace. Yuriy Kotyk is the official representative of the interests of OJSC "National Joint Stock Company Nadra Ukrainy" in the territory of China. Yuriy Kotyk assisted in the entering of Kyiv, Lviv and Odessa Opera Houses into the Silk Road International Theatre Alliance. Owing to this theaters have the opportunity to perform at the world's largest opera scenes. In 2015 he organized a concert tour of Ukrainian vocal bands "La Vivo" and "United People" on the territory of the PRC where they presented Ukrainian song culture and performed at the most prestigious scenes of China (National Assembly building, etc). In 2016 he became the co-organizer of the performances of Zhengzhou Grand Theater and Shaolin Tagou Martial Arts School in Kyiv and Lviv Opera houses (link). In 2017 he organized the performance of the Hunan theater at The Solomiya Krushelnytska Lviv State Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet. He also initiated the creation of a working group of the Lviv City Council on the сooperation of Lviv with the cities of the People's Republic of China. The working group is designed to regulate the processes of formation of Ukrainian-Chinese relations at the level of legislative and executive power in the city of Lviv. The group is headed by the City Counsil Secretary Anatoly Zabarylo. The group was created on February 10, 2017. Besides, Yuriy Kotyk contributed to the organization of the visit of Mao Gou Chueng, the general director of the imperial palace Gugong, who visited Lviv and Kyiv at the invitation of Oleg Sinyutka, the Chairman of the Lviv Regional State Administration. Yuriy Kotyk is a member of the working groups of the Lviv City Council on cooperation in Lviv with the cities of the People's Republic of China, the Republic of India, the Republic of Turkey and the Republic of Vietnam. Yuriy Kotyk represented Lviv region at the Harbin economic forum in the capacity as adviser to the Chairman of the Lviv Regional State administration on the international cooperation. Since 2010, he has been actively helping Ukrainian communities in the creation of cultural projects, as well as organizing the celebration of Ukrainian traditional holidays for Ukrainian people living in China (in particular in the cities of Beijing, Shanghai and Harbin). Moreover, he helps in the organization and promoting of the projects carried by the Embassy of Ukraine in China and the Embassy of China in Ukraine, for which he received numerous honorable diplomas. Historical researchYuriy Kotyk is engaged in historical research on the similarity of Chinese and Ukrainian ancient cultures in symbolism and semantic (from Tripillian culture to the Kievan Rus epoch), he also has scientific publications in numismatics and ethnography. Since 2014, he has been acting as adviser to the Chairman of the Lviv Regional State Administration on the international cooperation. Yuriy Kotyk`s activities were extended to the other countries, namely India and Vietnam. On his initiative, in 2017, the society of Ukrainian - Indian friendship was created (headed by Vitaly Svishchev). Besides, there were conducted the week of Indian culture (2017), the Indian film festival (2017), Yoga festival (2017), also the speech of Pandit Keshab Kanti Chowdhury was organized. Moreover, Yuriy Kotyk contributed to the organizations of visits of the Ambassador of India Manoj Kumar Bharti in the Regional State Administrations of the cities of Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk and Chernivtsi.
