He often works with natural light.[1] StyleIswarienko is a digital photographer.[2] With his background in lighting for major motion pictures, his images are often compared to stills from films and are said to have narrative elements.[3] Background & Personal LifeKurt Andrew Iswarienko was born in Akron, Ohio on June 22, 1974, to Irene and Alexander Iswarienko.[4] In 1981, the family moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina and then to Mexico City, Mexico in 1984.[5] In 1997, Iswarienko relocated to Hollywood, CA finding work as a film lighting technician on movies such as The Curse of the Black Pearl and The Ring.[6] He began shooting stills on-set of the acclaimed TV show ‘Freaks and Geeks,’ where he discovered his passion for celebrity photography.[7]He is married to actress Shannen Doherty.[8] CareerIn 2003, Iswarienko made his debut as a producer as he bankrolled a fantasy horror film titled ‘The Legacy.’ In 2007, he worked as a cinematographer for a short film titled ‘Prenuptial Tango.’ More recently, Iswarienko has focused his skills as a photographer. His subjects have included Anne Hathaway,[9] Ben Affleck,[10] Charlize Theron,[11] Chris Pratt,[12] Harrison Ford,[13] Helen Mirren,[14] James Franco, Jared Leto,[15] Leonardo DiCaprio,[16] and many more. His work has been published in Icon Magazine, Flaunt Magazine,[17] Esquire, GQ (Australia, British, Italia), The Hollywood Reporter, Interview Magazine, Variety,[18] and others.
