Kyle Hanagami is a choreographer and dancer based in Los Angeles, California. He has training in hip hop, contemporary, jazz, and ballet, and primarily teaches commercial dance classes. With over three million subscribers on YouTube and nearly 500 million views on his various videos..^[1], Kyle has amassed a large social following of dancers and non-dancers alike. His YouTube videos focus on urban commercial dance but have also explored contemporary dance and other styles as well. He commonly shares videos of dancers from his classes in Los Angeles, California, and also shares concept videos and various video shoots such as his choreography to Sam Smith's "Him"^[2] and Adele's "Love in the Dark."^[3] His most notable video, having over 160 million views alone, showcases his choreography to Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You," featuring dancers such as Haley Fitzgerald, Stephanie Mincone, Emma Hauser, Evan DeBenedetto, Adam Vesperman, Michael Dameski, and others^[4]. This video instigated an intense growth in popularity, growing from a previous 100,000 views per month on his YouTube channel in December of 2016 to hitting a peak of 1.4 million views in February of 2017^[5]. Since then, Hanagami's channel has continued growing as he continues to output choreography to current popular music.

Some of Hanagami's credits include The Black Eyed Peas and Justin Bieber as well as serving as a supervising choreographer along with Tabitha and Napoleon D'umo for the Move Live On Tour in 2017 starring Derek Hough and Julianne Hough^[6]. Hanagami also was the supervising choreographer for Jennifer Lopez's All I Have resident show in Las Vegas at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino running from 2016 to 2017. On top of teaching regularly in Los Angeles, California at studios such as Millennium Dance Complex and Movement Lifestyle, Kyle Hanagami tours across the United States with Velocity Dance Convention and Competition owned by Eve Mason and Cory Jones, teaching classes to young competitive dancers. Other members of Velocity Dance Convention's faculty include notable choreographers and dancers such as Shannon Mather, Alexander Chung, Dee Caspary, and Krystal "Phoenix" Meraz^[7]

In late 2014, Kyle Hanagami was diagnosed with leukemia, a cancer of the blood. In 2013, Hanagami had started a fundraising campaign for cancer research entitled Letters of Love. For every ten letters he received from his supporters, he would donate one dollar to cancer research. The campaign has received over 30,000 letters thus far. In Hanagami's announcement of the renewal of the campaign in 2015, he also announced his diagnosis publicly, stating that it was "one of the scariest moments [he's] experienced.^[8]" This announcement was made in the form of another dance video to a cover of Snow Patrol's "Give Me Strength" by Brock Baker and Alyson Stoner, a lyrical hip hop dance starring his friends who have experienced troubles with cancer in their own families^[9]
