释义 |
The term Lacto-Vegan or Lacto-Veganism was created in March 2002 by Shawn Harrison (Aged 17 years old at the time). The belief is simple, that drinking pure cow or pure goat's milk doesn't kill the animal or cause harm to it, so it is an acceptable practice to consume it in pure form (addition information below). This is coupled with the desire to consume ONLY plant based food aside from the pure dairy portion of the diet. Lacto in this instance refers to consuming ONLY pure dairy products (without any fish oil (aka vitamin A), without rennet, and without lanolin (aka vitamin D), etc.). The Vegan portion of the term is tied into the belief of having a mostly plant based diet and love for animals lives. Vegetarian was a term too loosely defined. So Lacto-Vegan and Lacto-Veganism were terms created to fill the void. The term may also be referred to as lactovegan or lactoveganism. Some pure butter, pure cream or pure goat’s milk are suitable for a lacto-vegan’s dietary needs. (Revision=001.
