Lape is a British- Nigerian broadcaster born 10th January 1993; she is a television presenter, journalist, documentary filmmaker, and media personality

She has made social-issue-themed television and online documentaries concerning child domestic labour in West Africa, mental health in developing countries, and entrepreneurship.

Lape is commonly described as a “reporting star of the future” by media industry insiders^[1]

Lape banjo was born on 10th January 1993, Her parents are from Nigeria, but she grew up in East London in the London borough of Newham , her secondary school education was St Angela’s Ursuline School then she went to the English independent school Eastbourne College in east Sussex.

Lape has an undergraduate degree in politics & international relations from Keele University, and a Masters in Journalism, Film and television from the University of Birmingham

In 2014, at the age of 21 Lape had her first sting in TV working on a BBC 2 drama ‘Marvellous’ which received a BAFTA for best TV drama.

In 2015, she worked for Warner bros owned , Wall to wall production on popular documentaries; Drugs Inc, Underworld Inc and BBC 2 Back In Time For dinner. Shortly after, she moved to British broadcaster Sky News, where she worked in online, digital, planning and production

In 2016 Lape became a reporter for London360, a magazine-style news show that aired on the Community Channel and local London TV channel London Live

Many of her reports included issues surrounding regeneration and social cleansing, youth entrepreneurship, uncovering the minority communities.

During this time she also worked on the radio about the then legal high nitrous oxides for BBC Radio London. The substance became illegal shortly after .

She executive produced online debate show generation y? which covered poignant issues affecting young people in the UK.^[2]

Lape is a frequent contributor on African politics on Journalist Hangout UK and lifestyle chat show Noni on Yanga TV^[3] ^[4]

She is currently an anchor and correspondent for International News station Arise News, and covers all foreign and international news.
