She lives in Harrison, New York[7], with her two daughters.[8][9] Early life and educationLeader was raised in a Jewish family in Washington, D.C. She attended the Holton Arms School and the Georgetown Day School before earning her B.A. from Barnard College of Columbia University in 1998.[10] CareerAfter college, Leader worked in human resources at Credit Suisse and other companies.[1] Leader began to volunteer with A Better Balance and the National Partnership for Women and Families to advance issues affecting women and families in the workplace.[4] In 2009, she began working full-time at the Center for Talent Innovation, where she authored several studies on women's issues[11] and spoke at numerous forums around the world.[12] In 2014, Leader founded All In Together, which “encourages, equips, educates, and empowers voting-age women to participate fully in America’s civic and political life.”[13] All In Together focuses on voting, advocacy, political organizing, and core civics.[14] In 2017, around the same time the Me Too movement was taking off, Leader led All In Together in partnering with former Fox News host Gretchen Carlson[15] to launch a grassroots civic leadership program nationwide to train women who are survivors of domestic violence, workplace harassment, or sexual assault.[16][17] The program operates in partnership with dozens of social services organizations and is free to all who participate.[18] In 2018, Leader joined the board of the Miss America Foundation, which awards educational scholarships to young women.[19] Additionally, Leader serves on the steering committee of the US 30% Club, which advocates gender diversity on company boards[20], and is “a life member of the Council on Foreign Relations.”[1] Public speakingLeader has written for a wide range of publications, including the Harvard Business Review[21], Bustle[22], Financial Times[23], and HuffPost[24].
