Llewelyn Maddock Parry (1905-1993), known professionally as "Lew Parry" and "L. M. Parry," was a British Columbia film producer, designer and art director. Based in the Vancouver area, Parry specialized in the field of industrial and sponsored films, but also worked in film production for television. Under a variety of company names, he produced as many as 200 films in his 35-year career. Early life and workBorn in Lethbridge, Alberta, Parry moved with his parents to Nelson, BC, where his father operated a movie theatre. Motion Skreenadz / Vancouver Motion Pictures Ltd.Parry's first experience in film production came in working for Leon C. Shelly, a Vancouver businessman who in 193_ had purchased two local film concerns: Motion Skreenadz Limited and Vancouver Motion Pictures Ltd. .... .... .... .... 1n 1945, Shelly moved his operation to Toronto and changed its name to Shelly Films.
