Developed for Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Xbox One, iOS, Android, Linux, Mac, and Playstation 4, the first game was released in January 2015, titled Life is Strange. The original game revolves around Maxine "Max" Caulfield, a senior in high school who returns to her home town of Arcadia Bay, Oregon to attend the fictional Blackwell Academy. There, she runs into her former best friend, Chloe Price, and after witnessing her getting shot in the bathroom, discovers she can rewind time. {{TOC limit|3}}SettingLife Is Strange along with its prequel Life Is Strange: Before the Storm both take place in the fictional Arcadia Bay, Oregon. GameplayAll games take a third person point of view in which the player takes control of the main character, either Max, Chloe, or Chris. The player is able to walk around the character's environment and interact with objects and people. The player is able to have conversations with various characters using branching dialogue, with the dialogue having a possibility of affecting the story in the short term, or long term. Life Is Strange allowed the player to let Max photograph certain people, objects, or places, while Life Is Strange: Before the Storm allowed for the player to let Chloe mark the walls with graffiti. Life Is Strange includes the concept of rewinding, allowing a player to go back several moments in time redo any actions or decisions taken. Objects Max interacts with prior to rewinding are kept in the players inventory. Life Is Strange: Before the Storm includes the concept of "Backtalk" which the player can use to either allow Chloe to get out of a certain situation, or make it worse. These "Backtalk" occurrences have both long and short term consequences. Games
