Lyman Beecher Hannaford, born Solon, 1841, Solon, Cuyahoga County Ohio, died 1888, Calumet Quebec, Canada

There is no apparent birth record available for Lyman Beecher Hannaford, Cuyahoga County, Ohio did not begin to formally keep track and register births within the county until after the American Civil War in 1867.[1]

Son of Reuben Hannaford and Nancy Foster both born in Canterbury New Hampshire, Lymans parents were children of the American Revolution and pioneer's of the western frontier in Ohio of the 1830's[2]. Few families lived in Solon Ohio when Reuben auctioned his farm in Canterbury New Hampshire and made his way west by way of Malone New York for a short time.

During the American Civil War Lyman Beecher Hannaford was with the 103rd Ohio Infantry, after mustering up near Cleveland Ohio, then travelling by train to Cincinnati, where the 103 OVI ferried across the Ohio River to Covington. From there they marched approximately ninety miles to Lexington, Kentucky, where the infantry men boarded a train to Frankfort, Kentucky, arriving around 1:oo pm on October 30 1862.[3]

At Frankfort the 103rd Ohio Infantry aided in the construction of Fort Hill (Frankfort, Kentucky)[4]
