The band released its first EP I Just Want To Sex With You in 2011, followed by the demo with two author songs and three covers in 2012. In 2014 Kyuho, the leader of the band, moved to Berlin, Germany, in order to “escape Korea”. Moving out of Korea also meant musical struggles for Kyuho – in Berlin it was hard to find band members for Madmans Esprit and therefore continue his solo project. Eventually guitarist Mario joined Madmans Esprit and Kyuho simultaneously joined German progressive metal band Human Traces as a vocalist. In 2014 Madmans Esprit released its first full album Nacht, containing six songs[4]. Because of the problems with Korean military, Kyuho was forced to return to Seoul in 2017, where he still continues with Madmans Esprit and ms.isohp romatem.[5] On October 1st 2018 Madmans Esprit released its second full album Constientization of Unconsciousness under the European visual kei label Gan Shin Records, containing 12 songs. Bundle pack of the album also contained 12 songs and one bonus track. The release under a big label and social media activity of the band made Madmans Esprit more popular during 2018, which resulted in band’s announcement of the Europe Tour and release of new EP Glorifying Suicide in April 2019. The band will be visiting France, Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, Poland, Belgium and Czech Republic.[6] Musical styleThe band describes its music as Depressive suicidal blackened pop. During the early stage of the band, their music was rather described as black metal. The second album brought more visual kei elements, such as makeup and outfits, as well as slightly different sound compared to the first album. As a leader of his solo project, Kyuho describes his music being influenced by his musically rich childhood and further influence from such bands as Dir En Grey, Radiohead and Shining (Norwegian band).[7] Lyrics of the band are usually themed around existence, death and life, and the theme of Ouroboros is common. Kyuho himself says that he’s aiming to deliver a message between the lyrics and many of his lyrics are themed around politics and philosophy.[3] Discography
