Mad Rocket: Fog of War is a free-to-play massively multiplayer online real-time strategy game for iOS and Android, developed by Ratatat Studios, inc. It was soft launched for Southeast Asia on December 2017^[1] and was released around the world on late October 2018^[2].

The rules for the player to build bases, attack and destroy opponent bases, or loot resources are the same as Clash of Clans and Boom Beach, but differing in one fundamental aspect - you’ll need to compensate for an immense shroud of fog covering the map. This makes it difficult for you to predict enemy movements initially, requiring you to literally ‘cover all bases’ during the heat of battle.^[3]

Mad Rocket: Fog of War was released to positive reviews, garnering high ratings from many critics.

Gameplay

Mad Rocket: Fog of War is an Players can build their base, upgrade their defenses and other buildings, and unlock troop upgrades.

Unlike other strategy games, by removing or restoring tiles, many maze-like layouts can be created. Building or upgrading requires resources, which is the easiest way to gain by looting other players' bases.

There are 3 types of weapons: Ground Troops, Air crafts, Rocket Missiles, and can be deployed on attack deck as like Clash Royal. Most of the weapons in the concept of the Sci-fi, such as dreadnought, Mother Ship, Cruise missiles, etc. A defenses has a ground-to-ground defense, ground-to-ground defense, or a hybrid-type defenses that can attack either side, and its appearance varies with level.

Dark Fog

The mechanism of the defense strategy, along with the defensive buildings, is made up Fog of War and Tiles. Especially the war fog blocks the sight of the attacker and makes it impossible to know the position of the defensive building. It will be partially clear away when;

• Rocket missiles hit the target area
• Aircrafts start attacking on targeted area
• After Ground troops drop to the ground safely from dropship, and start exploring.
• When the enemies’ HQ is destroyed, the fog will be cleared all at once.
  

Game Mode

There are two game modes; Single Campaign and Multiplayer. Clan War is expected to be added soon.

• Single Campaign: In the Campaign mode, you will fight NPCs and liberate the occupied bases to receive rewards. Looting mechanism of the Multiplayer mode is not applicable to the Campaign mode. You only gain Clear rewards when you win a battle. Clear rewards can be acquired repeatedly, even if the stage is cleared once. However, First clear rewards can be claimed only once.
• Multiplayer: When your Commander’s level reaches 5, the Multiplayer mode will unlock where you can invade and loot bases of other players all around the world.

Card

Playable troops and rocket missiles are represented as cards. Prior to each battle, players construct a deck of six cards which they use to attack and defend against their opponent's cards.

Each card costs a certain amount of BP(Battle Point) to play. The player begins a battle with 6 battle points and can hold a maximum of 10. During the battle, 1 BP is produced in every 0.8 seconds. The attacker can earn 1~4 extra battle point when opponent’s defensive buildings are destroyed.
