Robert McClenon (talk) 08:17, 16 February 2019 (UTC)}} The goal of this cultural event “Madurai Art Fest” is to contribute to a transformation of the currently predominant culture of media to a traditional fork arts and theatre forms in participation with local community from Madurai in particular and from different part of the state. Art forms as a means of cultural expression, such as theater, songs, crafts, photo/video can contribute to this transformation process. This is a continuation of Madurai Art fest 2018 and we would like to keep on this as a regular cultural event in the temple city every year were Madurai art lovers can participate, contribute and enrich for to the cultural activities of the temple city and in future this has to become a grand “Madurai Carnival”. Background In The year 2018 Kaleidoscope has organized a two days Madurai Art Fest 2018 at the Gandhi Museum premise were more than twenty art groups performed. In which more than one thousand people participated among the audience gallery to witness the mega show were they experienced the thrill and beauty of each and every performance. It was an amazing event and we would like keep going on the same experience with more creative performance in the coming year for the Madurai people. Program proposed • A two days Madurai Art fest is proposed during the year 2019 January 26-27 in association with various cultural promotion groups and friends under the coordination of Kaleidoscope Madurai. • Various performing groups will be invited from Madurai and different part of the state which includes social groups, traditional folk art groups, musicians, theatre groups, media groups, solo performance, etc. • Thematic stalls such as gallery for paintings, sculpture, photography, pottery, digital techniques, etc. will be installed for the attraction of children their parents and general public. • Food and Craft stalls will be arranged, so that small and medium scale entrepreneurship groups can make use this as an opportunity to present their products and people can enjoy doing a bit of shopping while enjoying the Art Fest.
