The Magnolia House Motel, is a historic home located in Greensboro, NC, was a motel that featured in the Green Book as stop for African-American travelers seeking safe travel. The house was originally a private residence constructed in 1889 and later converted to a motel in 1949. The home was later sold to Arthur and Louise Gist in 1949.[3] The Gists turned the 6 bedroom home into lodging for African-American travelers. Grace Gist sold the house to Sam and Kimberly Pass in 1996 who converted the residence into a bed-and-breakfast. The site is currently being researched by The North Carolina African American Heritage Commission for inclusion in a list of the 66 North Carolina locations listed in the Green Book.
