ContentsIt begins with Creation of Universe by Adishakti . Then , Shiva pleased her to be his wife . Shiva's marrige with Sati maa followed by her demise at yagna performed by daksha (Her father). Then creation of Shakti peethas by falling of organs of Sati mata by sudarshan chakra of Vishnu. It glorifies Kamakhya Shaktipeeth twice in being at end of this Purana. Then it adds birth of Sati in 2 forms : Ganga as her partial incarnation and Parvati as direct incarnation. Birth of Kartikey is described and special reference is made to Ganga . Then Ganesha is born to Adishakti as partial incarnation of Vishnu. Then Devi's contribution is highlighted in Mahabharat and Ramayan. In Ramayana she blessed Rama for victory . In Mahabharat , she was born as Krishna and Shiva was born as Radha and his other wives . And whole Mahabharat is summarized. Killing of vetrasur by Indra is mentioned followed by Description of loka of Devi where all Mahavidhayas live with there Shivas, the loka is guarded by yogini , yakshas and gandharawas. Then it tells story of descending of the great Ganges into Heaven , earth and Hell. She comes to earth by Bhagirath ' s wishes .Finally tells importance of worshipping Shiva and Shakti.
