释义 |
Mansour's Equation is a mathematical model designed to predict the year where those born before will be unable to receive treatment to achieve immortality, and those born after can become immortal[1]. It was developed by Ahmed Mansour. The year that Mansour's equation predicts is known as Mansour's Year. Mansour's Equation is defined as: Where M is Mansour's Year, c is the estimated year immortality is developed, r is the projected life expectancy rate, b is the base year, and e is the base life expectancy. Other UsesMansour's equation can be used to determine when immortality must be developed so that those born a certain year will likely still be alive to receive it. This can be done simply by rearranging the equation to: IssuesMansour's Equation makes many assumptions. Firstly, the estimated year immortality is found can only be based on predictions by futurists and by examining current trends of technological and medical growth. Furthermore, the life expectancy rate must be extrapolated into the future for the formula to work properly. These inconsistencies can drastically change the predicted Mansour's Year.
