Marco Salvatore Janus (born May 29, 1959) is an Italian-American mobster who served in the Colombo crime family as a Caporegime since 1983 and still currently is in the Colombo crime family until this day. He was a known associate of the Colombo crime family when he was just 18 years old in 1977. People referred to Janus as the "Il Toro Italiano" (The Italian Bull) and "Jig". He was referred to as "Il Toro Italiano" for his ruthless killings and mafia hits, it is known, but not proven that he has ordered over 120+ killings, and single-handedly killed over 35+ people. He is also refered to as "Jig" for his quick actions and decisions. Janus also owns a home in Cincinnati, Ohio and has strong ties to the Cleveland crime family and the Chicago Outfit.

Early Life

Marco Janus was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1959. He lived and grew up in Little Italy, Chicago until 1980 when he moved to Brooklyn, New York. When he was 18 years old, he was already an associate for the Colombo crime family. It is said that Marco Janus killed a man for the first time in 1982, from that day on, he never stopped with his involvement with the Italian American Mafia. In 1983 he was made a fully initiated member in the La Cosa Nostra. He later went on to become a Caporegime and have his own crew, some members of the crew are still alive today, but some, are incarcerated or deceased. In his early life, he became good friends with a notorious mob boss, Carmine Persico who was convicted in the mid-80s in the Mafia Commission Trial.

Incarceration and Conviction

In 2012, Marco Janus was in his home in Brooklyn, New York when he was raided by the FBI for a case that they have built with active racketeering charges and illegal gambling crimes he committed in 1989. Due to a confidential informant and a witness testimony, Marco Janus was sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2013. While in prison, he still remains as a Caporegime in the Colombo crime family. People say he is still the ruthless killer and extortionist he was back in the golden days of the mob, but some say he is a changed man, and he is willing to tell his story to a parole board in early 2019.
