BiographyTell was born to a air-conditioning technician and a housewife from Rishon Lezion, Israel. He adopted the name "Marcus" from his grandfather, who was a Polish-Jewish soldier in the Eighth Army during WW2. He has 2 sisters. His father died when he was 10 years old. A short time after his father's death, Tell became a protege of Rika Berkovich, a childern's books author. In 2004, she published a book that he wrote.[1] [2]From age 7 to 15 he studied acting at the "Five Senses" Theater Company in Israel and acted in numerous theater productions: from modern versions of fairytales such as "Sleeping Beauty" to grandiose shows as big as "Cabaret". Tell studied philosophy independently. Mainly the works of Marcuse, Schopenhauer, Zhaozhou Congshen, Seneca and Nietzsche. He went to academic lectures since the age of 15, when he first went to a lecture by Henry Unger. He was influenced by Conceptual art and the works of Andy Warhol, he even incorporated parts of Warhol's film: BAD, in his own short film Medea.[3] Tell claimes that his visual concept is influenced by a one character film called Sofi, starring Tom Troupe. He served as an Infantry Sniper in the IDF and took part in Operation Pillar of Defense. [4] After he was honorably discharged from the service, he went on a 3 months backpacking trip across Eastern Africa. he climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Mulanje. Later that year, he also climbed the Mont Blanc. In 2014, he studied prose writing under Lea Aini and Alex Epstein .Tell was rejected 6 times from film schools, until he enlisted to a theoretical degree in film at Tel Aviv University. In his 3rd year he organized and led a mutiny that caused a change in the Film department.[4] [5] In 2018, He founded the Tel Aviv International Short Film Festival.[6] CareerTell started his way as an editor and sampler at Keshet and as an actor in the Israeli Opera. He was selected into Reykjavík Talent Lab. [4] His short film An Ambush in the Limbo was be premiered at Miami Jewish Film Festival 2019.[7]Tell is currently developing a feature-length road film set in Africa. Filmography as Director
