{{autobiography|date=October 2018}}Marek Gruszczyński (born Oct 25, 1948 in Wieluń)..[1] is a Polish economist, econometrician, professor at SGH Warsaw School of Economics. Vice-Rector for Research and International Relations of this university in 2012-2016. Director of Canadian Executive MBA (CEMBA), joint venture of SGH and UQAM (Montreal) in 2002–2006 and 2008–2012.[2] He is married to Beata Gruszczyńska, professor at the University of Warsaw. Father of Michał Gruszczyński and Łukasz Gruszczyński. Education and professional careerGraduate of Tadeusz Kosciuszko Liceum Ogólnokształcące in Wieluń (1966) and graduate of econometrics (1971) from Main School of Planning and Statistics (later named SGH Warsaw School of Economics). In 1971–1973 member of national committee of AIESEC Poland (an international association of students in business and economics) and its first president (1971)[3] Since 1971 the researcher and lecturer in the Institute of Econometrics in SGPiS/SGH. In 1975–1976 he was a graduate trainee at Citibank's head office in New York City in the department of dr Irving Friedman. In 1977 he obtained the Ph.D. degree in economics under the supervision of prof. Michał Kolupa. In 1981–1985 senior lecturer in University of Nigeria (Nsukka, Nigeria) in the Department of Statistics and the Department of Economics. Advisor to several projects of privatization and restructuring of companies in Poland. He also served as member of the Board of Directors of Pekao SA, a major Polish bank (1995–1996). In 2001 he obtained the degree of habilitated doctor and in 2013 the professor's title. Supervisor of 7 doctoral theses[4] Since 2008 member of the board of Committee of Statistics and Econometrics in Polish Academy of Sciences[5]. His areas of expertise include: applied econometrics, microeconometrics, time series forecasting, empirical corporate finance, fundamental analysis and corporate governance. Member of editorial boards, e.g. “Central European Journal of Economic Modelling and Econometrics”, “Gospodarka Narodowa” (Editor in Chief since 2017), „South African Journal of Business Management”, and “Bank i Kredyt” (2009-2017). PublicationsAuthor of numerous textbooks, monographs and articles[6]. His book “Empirical Corporate Finance. Financial Microeconometrics” (2012, in Polish) has been honored in Poland with prestigious “Beta” award (in 2013). His other book “Models and forecasts of qualitative variables in finance and banking” (2002, in Polish) has obtained the ministerial prize (in 2003). Editor and co-author of Polish translations of leading textbooks in econometrics: "Principles of Econometrics" by Henri Theil (1979, with G. Napiórkowski) and "Introduction to Econometrics" by G.S.
