Maria Carmen Lemos, PhD, MS, BS is a professor at the University of Michigan, the associate dean of research, and the co-director of Great Lakes Integrated Sciences and Assessments Program (GLISA)[1][2]. She is broadly interested in how techno-scientific knowledge is used (or not) in environmental policymaking, particularly water management, in Brazil, Chile, Mexico, and United States[1]. She is particularly interested in the human dimensions of climate change and vulnerable populations[1]. BiographyLemos received her BS from the Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora, Brazil in economics. She received her MS and PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in political science. She has been actively publishing in scientific journals since 1990 and has been cited in almost 1,000 articles[3]. Her most recent work includes research with populations vulnerable to environmental issues related to climate change in China[4][5]. Her work with the GLISA is funded by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and is focused on connecting users of climate information with generators of climate information[6].
