}} Meena Ally, is a talented young media personality, youth activist and a creative genius. She is both dedicated and devoted to media and work. Among other innovative products Meena Ally has worked to promote and advocate rights of youth and women in Tanzania, through media. Since 2015 she has worked with BBC Media Action in hosting a youth programme called “Niambie” meaning Tell Me and Clouds FM where together with Millard Ayo hosts a beautiful, populous and sensational programme called” Amplifier”. Both Niambie and Amplifier have million of listeners mainly youth across East Africa and beyond. She produces and presents seasonal youth programmes in Chachawiza at Bahari FM in Nairobi and Ykilisha a programme administered by Kenya Broadcasting Corporation in Nairobi. Recently, Meena Ally invented her own genre in Tanzanian promo- media history of making well illustrated promos of short powerful advert for Tigo Fiesta 2018 which have won her thousands of followers for her comic style and dramatic innovation. The promos are normally short but with touchy and attractive messages leaving accolades and Swahili idioms such as “moja kuubwa”,” hatuli kwa kushiba tunakula kwa kumaliza “, Na nikuulizee, etc. Meena has appeared as the first brave female presenter in the colourful and promising Bongo Star Search company (BSS), a well-known East African music incubator for young talents. She has worked both in media and during large stage performances. After (and even before) her studies at the Journalism School, Meena naturally became a media person, hosting a number of TV programmes at the East African Televisión station in Dar Es Salaam from 2011 to 2014 including featuring in Revana Her most remembered programme which she was the founder in East African TV was the “Uswazi”, a programme featuring daily harsh life at the remote and poverty-stricken areas of Dar Es Salaam. Uswazi has been the popular programme among youth and poor communities in Tanzania. Meena has also facilitated various conferences as MC, such as Broadcasters and Distributors Forum (BDF 2018), held at the Nkrumah Hall, University of Dar Es Salaam, aimed at creating the Platform for content creators to meet with gatekeepers of the industry. The Guest of Honour was the Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism Dr. Harison Mwakyembe. She has also has been invited in various other places in Tanzania. In Kenya, she was invited by Start-Up Africa to talk how to make one’s dream to come true in life and talked about youth advancement at The Columbia University Nairobi Branch. Meena at one time participated at the Ignite forum organized by BBC Media Action held in London where young activists participated to talk on their experiences and challenges facing youth community in the world. She has also appeared in colourful adverts in Tigo and halotel mobile phone companies accordingly publicising the importance of services being delivered. Meena participated in to the Tanzanian entrepreneurship project of empowering women as “Malkia wa Nguvu “meaning the powerful struggling Queen which aims to entice women for self-employment and fighting for their rights. When at a secondary school student at the High View International School in Zanzibar, she visited unofficially, the then Television Zanzibar (TVZ) now ZBC for a voice test as well as Zenji FM Radio station. This stimulated her to build enthusiasm and nose for the media. Meena or Mina is a short of Muhaymina a name given by her parents.
