Currently unsigned and making a name for himself in the underground rap scene. Early lifeMichael Joseph Lyons was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, He grew up on r&b, hip-hop, and alternative music. Lyons later began to get into the skateboarding scene as well as the beat producing scene which helped him discover artist like lil wayne, chief keef, and indie bands. He then gave up on skateboarding years later due to race/hate crimes. With skateboarding way behind him he would go onto pursuing music fully. CareerSly Mike has been producing beats in his hometown of Winston-Salem, NC since 2016. It wasn’t until late 2017, however, that he began rapping over these beats himself. It didn’t take long for him to develop a passion for the craft and he has been ceaselessly writing and recording ever since. Commitment to aesthetics is deeply important to Sly Mike. As such, his artistic influences primarily consist of wholly original artists with uniquely distinctive styles. These include artists like Kanye West, Gorillaz, Chief Keef, and even auteur filmmakers like Wes Anderson. With a clear vision for his future, an unflinching sense of drive, and a bold style that is entirely his own, Sly Mike is sure to make a name for himself in the rap game.
