[3] HistoryMom’s Gourmet was started in 2009 by Michigan-born, Ohio residents Sally Koepke and her mother, the late Patricia Flattery (1927-2013). Both cooking enthusiasts, the mother-daughter pair originally began mixing and producing spice and seasoning blends at home as gifts for family and friends. They sought to create healthy alternatives to similar alternative products on the market that contained salt, preservatives, MSG, and other unnatural ingredients. In its first year of existence as a registered private company, monthly sales averaged $10,000.[4] The company has consistently achieved growth in sales with 2018 total yearly sales estimated at $225,000. As Mom’s Gourmet’s sole proprietary owner, Sally Koepke is also principal partner of McHale & Koepke Communications, a business-to-business marketing and advertising agency located in Chagrin Falls, a suburb of Cleveland in Northeast Ohio. Koepke uses her marketing experience to promote the Mom’s Gourmet brand and increase its distribution presence to small specialty markets, national and regional supermarket chains in the U.S.[5] Whole Foods Market, Earth Fare, Giant Eagle, Heinen’s Fine Foods, Jungle Jim’s International Market, Kroger, Plum Market Fairway Market, Fresh Thyme Market, Weis Markets, Westborn Market, Kings Food Markets, and Dave’s Markets all carry Mom’s Gourmet products in their stores.[6] Website[https://momsgourmet.net/ www.MomsGourmet.net] References1. ^{{Cite web|url=https://www.cleveland.com/cooking/2017/08/wow-a-chihuahua_other_spice_bl.html|title=Newbury mom, daughter make a spicy duo in Mom's Gourmet Company|last=Snook|first=Debbie|date=2010-06-16|website=cleveland.com|archive-url=|archive-date=|dead-url=|access-date=2019-03-22}} 2. ^{{Cite web|url=https://www.cleveland.com/taste/2010/06/newbury_mom_daughter_make_a_sp.html|title=Newbury mom, daughter make a spicy duo in Mom's Gourmet company|last=Snook|first=Debbi|date=2010-06-16|website=cleveland.com|language=en-US|access-date=2019-03-22}} 3. ^{{Cite web|url=https://www.barnraiser.us/stories/are-these-spices-on-your-table|title=Barnraiser|website=www.barnraiser.us|access-date=2019-03-22}} 4. ^{{Cite web|url=https://www.crainscleveland.com/article/20130311/SUB1/303119997/the-interview-sally-koepke-co-founder-moms-gourmet-newbury|title=THE INTERVIEW: Sally Koepke, co-founder, Mom's Gourmet, Newbury|date=2013-03-07|website=Crain's Cleveland Business|language=en|access-date=2019-03-22}} 5. ^{{Cite web|url=https://www.news-herald.com/news/mother-daughter-kitchen-creations-a-commercial-hit-for-newbury-pair/article_c6c9888f-aaba-5016-9726-b98393811363.html|title=Mother-daughter kitchen creations a commercial hit for Newbury pair|last=Podolak|first=Janet|website=The News-Herald|language=en|access-date=2019-03-22}} 6. ^{{Cite web|url=https://www.cleveland.com/cooking/2017/08/wow-a-chihuahua_other_spice_bl.html|title=Wow-A-Chihuahua, other spice blends by Newbury entrepreneur dig into the market (photos)|last=Snook|first=Debbi|date=2017-08-23|website=cleveland.com|language=en-US|access-date=2019-03-22}} |
