MONITORAPP Inc. ({{lang-ko|(주)모니터랩}}) is an information technology (IT) security firm headquartered in Seoul, South Korea. MONITORAPP offers web application security,database security, and VoIP security solutions. Most recently, MONITORAPP has revealed plans to develop and implement a SECaaS-based Web Security Services Suits for cloud security market.

History

Establishment

In February 2005, CEO Kwang-Hoo Lee[1]established 'MONITORAPP, Ltd.'. He added 'App' to 'Monitor' with the meaning of 'This company will watch(Monitor) and protect the application(App)' to create the current company name. It develops security products of core applications that are essential for businesses. [2][3]

Expansion

MONITORAPP Japan was established in August 2016 as a corporation in Tokyo, Japan.

MONITORAP, Ltd. and MONITORAP Japan has built partnerships in Thailand (2011), Malaysia (2013). Japan (2016), Indonesia (2016), and Vietnam (2016) to expand overseas application security market entry.[4] [5]

Security R&D Center

MONITORAPP has its own R&D center. More than 40 people, 70% of the total, are developers and engineers.

The R&D center is actively developing security staff through specialized high school linkage program, industry-university cooperation program, and specialized researcher system (alternative service).[6] [7]

Main Products

AIWAF(Application Insight Web Application Firewall)

AIWAF is a Web Application Firewall (WAF) that protects Web server from various threats such as OWASP Top 10, SQL Injection, XSS, CSRF, Malicious Bot, WebShell, Brute force attack.

Patented Transparent Proxy Gateway technology is operated in stealth mode without IP setting, thus provides flexible configuration and operation without changing existing network due to the transparency.

High-performance Web Proxy enables large-volume traffic to be processed at high speed.

AISWG(Application Insight Secure Web Gateway)

AISWG was released in 2013 and it is Secure Web Gateway that provides URL Filtering Solution to manage staff’s website access.

AISWG protects sensitive data leakage and apply company’s policy through blocking access to malicious or non-business website.

AISVA(Application Insight SSL Visibility Appliance)

AISVA was released in 2015 and it is SSL (HTTPS, [[Encrypted traffic)]) Visibility Appliance.

AISVA provides SSL visibility to other security solutions by encrypting / decrypting SSL traffic at high speed for security check.

AIONCLOUD(SECaaS Platform)

AIONCLOUD was released in 2016 and it is SECaaS(Security as a Service) platform that provides cloud-based web security services.

  • In 2005, MONITORAPP was awarded a commendation from the South Korean SMB Administration at Korea Venture Awards.[8]
  • In 2005, MONITORAPP received the Venture company certification from Korea Technology Finance Corporation (KOTEC)[9]
