Established in 2018 in Montreal, the club competes in the AFL Quebec (formerly the Eastern Canadian Australian Football League), and was the fifth men's team and third women's team to be added to the league in their inaugural season. The Blues are notable in that they are currently the only club that has both men's and women's teams, the women called the "Bluebelles". Club historyIn late 2017, founder of AFL Quebec Luke Anderson put forward a proposal for an expansion club that would be home to both men's and women's Australian football teams. In December 2017 the committee accepted the proposal and the Montreal City Blues Australian Football Club was formed. The Blues and Bluebelles were granted a special "Expansion Draft Exemption" in the 2018 AFL Quebec draft to recruit willing players from opposition clubs. The Montreal City Blues draw inspiration in both name and team colours from professional Australian Football team the Carlton Football Club. Club Honour Board (Men)
