Brian Satchell (born May 1989), known professionally as Mopioso, is an American rapper based in Phoenix, Arizona, as well as the CEO and premier artist of his record label, Guilleteam Records.

Early life

Mopioso was born 1989 in Phoenix, Arizona to his mother "Sandra" and his father Michael, both of African-American descent. Mopioso is the youngest boy and third youngest of 7 siblings in a single parent household. Mopioso had a troubled childhood. As a child, Mopioso witnessed his uncle burn to death after falling asleep with a cigar on the front porch. Mopioso had also daily interactions with close relatives dealing with violent drug addictions. He experienced homelessness, and additionally had to live away from his siblings due to size restrictions of his family home. By the 5th Grade, at the time, $natch Money was active in gangs and gaining notoriety as a hustler in his neighborhood.

Career

Mopioso's career began in 2007 at the age of 18, then known as $natch Money, performing at local shows. Mopioso began to gain recognition through platforms such as SoundCloud and Reverbnation.. Mopioso had pre-existing notoriety through out Phoenix, AZ but His popularity grew nationally after the release of the his single "[https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/lords-my-witness-single/1438502920?app=itunes&ign-mpt=uo%3D4 Lord's My Witness]" in October 2018. Mopioso is currently working on his studio album release.

Artistry

Mopioso listed B.G and Nas as his early influences in hip hop, with other influences including Silkk the Shocker, Jay-Z and Juelz Santana. Mopioso has also described E-40 and Kendrick Lamar as musical inspirations.

Mopioso describes his music as Tulley music. Its a derivation of the California Bay Area rap style (associated to rappers such as E-40 and Mac Dre), cloud rap, and also Atlanta's Crunk style rap, most notably made famous by Lil Jon and the Eastside Boyz. His rapping style is adaptive and technical. His songs often include audible changes in lyrical pronunciation and word play. Addiionally Mopioso also is known for his raw lyricism and storytelling ability.

Mopioso is the cousin of local rapper [https://www.numberonemusic.com/beyondplatinum Ditta Don Juan] and brother-in-law to Christian rapper and producer [https://www.reverbnation.com/1ncewas F.K.A (Formerly Known As)].

Mopioso is CEO and premier artist on his own record label Guilleteam Records.  Mopioso commonly is requested for collaborations with other artist and works with many artist in various recording studios.

Legal troubles

In 2007, Mopioso was arrested for two alleged Armed Robberies and one burglary 3rd degree. In 2008, Mopioso was convicted for two counts of Armed Robbery. Mopioso served 13 months in the Maricopa County 4th Avenue Jail and Sheriff Joe Arpaio's tent city and released early 2010 on probation. Later that same year on April 19 2010, Mopioso had a reaction to prescription medications that caused a paranoid intoxicated reaction in which Mopioso attempted to flee the city by car, becoming involved in an auto accident, then stealing another involved auto to continue to flee. After a short police chase, Mopioso was again arrested, this time for two counts of DUI, Hit and Run w/ Injury, Robbery, Attempt to commit robbery, attempt to commit theft, and Theft of Means of Transportation. Mopioso pled guilty and was convicted of Theft of Means Transportation being sentenced to 10 years to run concurrent with both previous convictions for Armed Robbery.[1].Mopioso was an inmate at the ASP Kingman facility during the July 2015 prison riots that took place.[2]  During his incarceration, Mopioso focused on studying business ownership and psychology, analyzing his personal relationships and improving himself, mentally and physically, and went on to additionally perfecting his lyrical craft in music. It was during this time that Mopioso decided to no longer use the alias $natch Money.

On September 11, 2018, Mopioso was released on community supervision. Less than a month later, a verbal altercation led to Mopioso being detained again, however he was released and not charged with any wrong doings.

Personal life

With such a turbulent childhood, Mopioso turned to music to creatively express his feelings on various personal issues that he dealt with.

Mopioso (then $natch Money) later moved to East St Louis Illinois with his older sister and his Eldest Brother, who serves in the Air Force. After spending a few months there, he decided to visit back to Phoenix, it was during that visit, that he found himself in trouble with the law.

Mopioso attended Sun Valley High School in Mesa, AZ before dropping out, later obtaining his G.E.D while incarcerated[3]

In his spare time, Mopioso enjoys working out, hiking, and spending time with family friends. His physique has drawn the question to him many times on becoming a male fitness model. Mopioso has long dreads. He is noted to have a majority of his body covered in tattoos.

Mopioso has written over 200 songs while incarcerated ranging on various topics and even with a vast collection of written works, he is consistently found writing new material.
