Mos is a San Francisco based civic tech company founded by the human rights activist Amira Yahyaoui, which builds software to solve the problem of the increasing weight of bureaucracy in modern societies.

In September 2018, Mos launched their first product, a service (accessible at [https://www.mos.com/ mos.com]) that helps American students easily fill and submit their FAFSA and apply for 500+ financial aid programs all in one place.[1]

History

In 2018[2], Amira Yahyaoui founded [https://www.mos.com/ Mos]. She was previously the founder and president of multi-awarded Tunisian NGO Al Bawsala. Mos's vision is to use technology and design to help citizens cut through the red tape, and get access to their benefits in the simplest and less stressful way possible.

Product and Services

Mos has launched their first product, Mos Financial Aid, in September 2018. Through this online platform, students can check their eligibility across $135 billion of government college financial aid, and have their applications automatically formatted and communicated to the right government agency. The company has automated the eligibility verification and award amount estimation process for more than 500 aid programs across all 50 states.

Beyond automation, Mos provides end-to-end application support via financial aid advisors, who help students make sure their application is error-free, and guide them in negotiating their financial package award with their college upon admission.
