NaijaLoaded is an online community created by Makinde Azeez in October 2009. It was originally an Forum targeted at Nigerians but later transformed into a blog and has spread all over Africa and beyond.

History

Created in 2009, NaijaLoaded steadily grew into one of the most visited Nigerian websites with over 120 million monthly page views. It is ranked as the 16th most visited site in Nigeria as of March 2019,(and the 9th most visited indigenous site) according to Alexa.com^[1]

In 2009, the site functioned akin to a technology blog, offering tutorials and books about mobile phone-related topics.

By 2011, NaijaLoaded was running news and phone discussions, and received 10 million visitors daily. Despite adequate traffic from their technology-minded audience, NaijaLoaded decided to incorporate music downloads.

NaijaLoaded was completely revamped in 2013; however, this caused security issues with the website, as it was hacked multiple times soon after. Due to the site being attacked, it had to be moved down to WordPress. Since then, the site has stayed as a blog rather than convert back to a normal forum.

Naijaloaded has only 9 online working staffs aside contributors. They include: Makinde Azeez, Deji, Adioh, Oluwafemi, Jelili, Kabir, Komolafe, Akhampapa, Kolade.
