Nando Vila is a host, correspondent, producer, and writer covering politics, sports, and culture.[1]

Nando is the host and creator of "Happy Ending with Nando Vila" on the cable network Fusion. "Happy Ending" is a sketch comedy series that explored major social and political issues from a progressive perspective. It premiered in late 2017 and ran through spring of 2018[2] [3] [4] [5] The show featured numerous notable progressive journalists and strategists as guests including Matt Bruenig, Sarah Jaffe, Ryan Cooper, Adam Johnson and Tim Faust. [6]

Leading up to the 2018 World Cup, Nando hosted the podcast "We Came to Win" for Gimlet Media[7] [8] The podcast "thoughtfully profil[es] a handful of the World Cup’s most recognizable moments, storylines, and personalities to examine how they have impacted the larger world today." [9] [10]. It was well-received by soccer fans. [11] [12] [13]

Before that, Nando produced and co-hosted the fan-favorite weekly round-up sports show, “The Soccer Gods”.[17] [18][19] In 2014, Nando wrote, produced, and co-hosted FUSION’s “Midterm Mayhem,” alongside Kal Penn – an unprecedented political coverage show for the network, which aired live every night for three months. [20] [21] [22]

Nando has been present at Fusion since its inception. He joined Univision’s news division in 2011 and helped develop an English-language strategy for Univision as it looked to build its audience with 2nd and 3rd generation Hispanics, which blossomed into FUSION –a multi-platform media company that serves the diverse and inclusive millennial generation across its television and digital platforms. Before joining FUSION, Nando worked for PODER Magazine, the leading publication for the Latin American Business Elite. He also helped found the ABC Foundation, an organization whose goal is to create world-class, socially conscious events geared to business leaders from the Americas.
