Salaman has written, made work on and/or curated exhibitions related to a wide range of topics including: the art school; pornography and censorship; image technologies; and social justice. Her art and writing have featured in projects such as What She Wants: Women Artists Look at Men (ed., Verso, 1994); Parenthesis (1998, self-published); Postcards on Photography: Photorealism and the Reproduction (exhibition and publication, Cambridge Darkroom, 1999, with Ronnie Simpson); Nothing is Hidden (exhibition, 2000, with Hermione Wiltshire), Changed Press Marks of the Private Case (2001)[1]; and Looking Back at the Life Room (2010)[2]. She has taught studio art and art theory courses in art and photography schools nationally, and has taught fine art at University of Brighton since 1998. She also co-runs a window exhibition space, SWEETSHOP[3], in Lewes, East Sussex.
