The Scopus Young Scientist Awards is a prestigious Award launched by Elsevier in 2006 in India. In 2009 Elsevier collaborated with the National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI) and the awards are currently termed as NASI-Scopus Young Scientist Awards. These awards were established to honor the early career scientists (including social scientists) who are under the age of 40. Consistently in excess of 800 applications are received for this award competition. High level panelists for each category shortlists the researchers and the winner is chosen based on their quality and impact of their research. As of 2018, 106 winners have been declared.^[1] The Winners of this Award receive a Cash Prize of Indian Rupees 75000, a plaque and a citation. Recently, the Honourable Vice President of India, Mr. Venkaiah Naidu presented the 2018 awards to the Winners.^[2]
