Natasha Ginwala (born 1985 in Ahmedabad, India) is a curator, writer, and critic. She currently is associate curator at Martin-Gropius-Bau in Berlin, Germany. Co-artistic director of Gwangju Biennale 2020 (with Defne Ayas)[1] and artistic director of the interdisciplinary arts festival COLOMBOSCOPE[2], Colombo, Sri Lanka. Ginwala has curated several international exhibitions and is a widely published arts writer. WorkGinwala curated Contour Biennale 8, Polyphonic Worlds: Justice as Medium[3] and was part of the curatorial team of documenta 14, 2017.[4] Other recent projects include Arrival, Incision. Indian Modernism as Peripatetic Itinerary in the framework of Hello World Revising a Collection at Hamburger Bahnhof - Museum für Gegenwart[5] Berlin, 2018. My East is Your West at the 56th Venice Biennale, 2015,[6] Still Against the Sky featuring Hajra Waheed at KW Institute for Contemporary Art, Berlin, 2015,[7] Corruption: Everybody Knows... with e-flux, New York, 2015,[8] and Mind Moves Matter at L'appartment 22 in Rabat, Morocco. Ginwala has co-curated The Museum of Rhythm, at Taipei Biennial 2012 and at Muzeum Sztuki, Łódź, 2016–17.[9] From 2013–15, in collaboration with Vivian Ziherl, she led the multi-part curatorial project Landings[10] presented at Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art, presented at Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art, David Roberts Art Foundation, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, and other partner organizations.
