词条 | Draft:National Coroner and Medicolegal Death Investigators Week |
释义 | National Coroner and Medicolegal Death Investigators week was first introduced by Last Responder (www.lastresponder.org) and CoronerTalk (CoronerTalk.com) in January of 2019. Two very innovative minds, Kolleen Hancock and Nikki Gamblin, got together and saw a need for a week of recognition within their industry. The idea was put out to several Coroner’s and Medicolegal Death Investigators throughout the United States and immediately the change began. The first county to make a proclamation was Mesa County Colorado. Newly elected Coroner, Victor Yahn, requested the proclamation and on Monday, January 28th, the proclamation was signed and presented to Coroner Yahn and his office. This is thought to be the first of many counties that will follow. There has been a serious lack of recognition in the world of death investigation for quite some time, but that is changing and the hope is that many across the country will take a moment to recognize and thank their local Coroner’s office for the very difficult job they perform on a daily basis within their respective county. |
