Neil Price (born June 22, 1976) is a writer, educator and community researcher. Price was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. He holds degrees from York University, Ryerson University and the University of Toronto. Price is a regular contributor to NOW Magazine where he writes on topics including policing, race, education and personal memoir.[1]. He has also contributed to Hazlitt[2] , THIS Magazine, Toronto Star, and has made appearances on CBC’s Metro Morning[3] . Price is a leading commentator on community-police relations in Toronto. Price taught in the Community Worker Program at George Brown College from 2007-2016, and is Associate Dean at Humber College’ In 2014, he co-founded LogicalOutcomes, a non-profit consultancy focused on public policy, applied research and program evaluation. As Executive Director of LogicalOutcomes, Price authored the influential Community Assessment of Police Practices (CAPP) report [5] , which documented community interactions between residents of the Jane-Finch community and the Toronto Police Service in the summer of 2014[6]. The CAPP report was harshly criticized by police chief Bill Blair[7] but remains the only neighbourhood-level research on the widely criticized police practice of “carding” in Canada.
