Capitalizing on the outlet's popularity with locals, WGNO-TV's News with a Twist frequently references Neutral Ground News in its new weekly segment 'What Do You Meme?[2][3]' Neutral Ground News originally launched as a tribute to The New Orleans Levee, a highly acclaimed predecessor, to carry on and expand the satirical traditions the former had started in response to the failures of local, state and federal governments in post-Hurricane Katrina New Orleans.
