On November 12 2017 the series was declared a candidate for "Best Comedy Series" at the C21Media TV Ceremony in London {{{{Cite news|url=https://b.walla.co.il/item/3110954|title=Competing abroad Reshet's Nevsu a finalist at -C21Media - |newspaper=וואלה! ברנז'ה|language=he-IL|access-date=2017-11-18}}}}. On September 27 2018 the show was declared as a nominee for the best comedy series in the 46th International Emmy Awards ^[1]

Plot

Gilly Chalacho (Yossi Vassa) is an advertising agent of Ethiopian descent who's married to Tamar (Merav Feldman), an artist and sculptor of Ashkenazi, Polish descent. Gilly and Tamar try raising their 5 year old daughter, despite all the prejudice and stress by their extended family, as each family get together causes mainly diffrences of opinion. Nitsa (Hanna Laslo) is Tamar's condescending and tactless mother. She's married to Yaacov (Gadi Yagil), who is newly retired, and is often bossed around by his wife. Alamitu Chalacho (Meski Shivro), Gilly's mother, who lives with her brother Shamalash (Solomon Marasha), is a widower, and is very devout to upholding her Ethiopian tradition.

The show follows the situations Tamar and Gilly get caught up in as part of their daily lives, alongside situations brought on by their extended families. Every episode has a main plot and two sub-plots. The main plot usually centers around Tamar and Gilly, and the sub-plots focus on each side of the family: Alamitu and Shamalash or Yaacov and Nitsa.

Characters

Main Characters

• Gilly Chalacho (Yossi Vassa): An Israeli advertising agent of Ethiopian descent in his mid-thirties. Husband to Tamar, and father to Maayan. Alamitu is his mother.
• Tamar Agassi-Chalacho (Merav Feldman): Israeli Artist, of Ashkenazi descent, in her mid-thirties. Wife to Gilly, and mother to maayan. Her Parents are Nitsa and Yaacov
• Nitsa Agassi (Hanna Laslo): Tamar's Mother and Yaacov's wife. Polish-born, tactless, condescending and constantly bosses around her husband. She tries being nice towards Gilly and his family, but doesn't always seem capable of it. Maayan grandmother.
• Yaacov Agassi (Gadi Yagil): Tamar's father and Nitsa's husband. Worked for Rafael for 30 years and recently retired. Nitsa takes advantage of this fact and orders him to do as she pleases. Maayan's grandfather.
• Alamitu Chalacho (Meski Shivro): Gilly's mother. A 50-something year old widower. Devoted to her Ethiopian traditions she is very critical of Gilly for what she sees as "losing contact with his Ethiopian roots". Maayan's grandmother

Minor Characters

• Shamalash Chalacho (Solomon Marasha): Alamitu's brother and uncle to Gilly, Ortal and Eliran. A terrible driver, and is involved in many accidents.
• Maayan Agassi-Chalacho (Ariella Iznawa): Gilly and Tamar's five-year-old daughter.
• Eliran Chalacho (Haim Izikias): Alamitu's son. Ortal and Gilly's Brother.
• Ortal Chalacho (Liraz Avra): Alamitu's daughter. Eliran and Gilly's sister.
• Mendel (Coby Ariely): Gilly's co-worker. Gives Gilly his honest opinion about him and his actions

Guest Appearances

• Giora(Dov Reizer): Yaacov's best friend who comes out at the age of 70. Hemda is his ex-wife.
• Gilad (Elisha Banai): Tamar's Brother, and Nitsa & Yaacov's son. Comes home from Berlin, but ends up returning their quickly because of Nitsa and Yaacov
• Meir Adony (playing himself) - A Chef who comes to give Yaacov a personal cooking class so that he'll know how to cook patties better than Nitsa.
• Ronny Somek (playing himself) - The host of a sing-a-long which Nitsa and Yaacov attend.
• Arik Sinai (playing himself) - A professional singer who composes and sings Lyrics to a song written by Yaacov.
• Michael Alony (playing himself) - Tamar's obsessive ex-boyfriend.
