It is a 200-acre campus with a capacity for 750 beds. It is an Institute under State Legislature Act. It was set up by Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad to provide healthcare to people of Nalgonda, Warangal, Medak, Rangareddy and Mahabubnagar districts.[1][2] HistoryThe hospital was proposed to ease patient pressure at Hyderabad. The ground breaking ceremony was held on 31 December 2005, but the work started in 2008 and was inaugurated in 2009 even before the entire construction was completed. It is located 35 kilometers from Hyderabad at Rangapur, Bibinagar in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district in Telangana, India. The HospitalThe 750-bed hospital developed on a 200 acres land and nearly 8 lakh sft of space. It would be capable of addressing medical needs in 21 specialities.[3][4][5] The hospital started the out-patient operations on 6 March 2016 with a dedicated staff of 28 including 15 doctors.[6][7] The out-patient facilities include gynecology, emergency, surgery, obstetrics, orthopedics and general medicine are available to the people. A smartphone app, Susruth, was developed to seek appointments and other information on the phone. Future plansIt will be turned into a medical college with a 100 seat MBBS and super-speciality teaching college. AIMS proposalTelangana received an approval from Government of India for a AIIMS campus in the state. There is a proposal to give Bibinagar NIMS for the new All India Institutes of Medical Sciences by Government of Telangana.[8][9] The bed strength required for AIIMS is 960-beds. If AIIMS Board is willing to take over the campus, NIMS is proposed to be shifted to another location.
