}}Noitom Technology Limited (Noitom) is a technology company specializing in motion capture technology and virtual reality. The name of the company is a semordnilap, spelling the word 'motion' in reverse. Noitom hires engineers who develop motion capture products for consumer and commercial markets through the integration of MEMS sensors, pattern recognition, human kinetics and wireless transmission.

In 2014, Noitom launched Perception Neuron, a full-body motion capture system for the international market, on Kickstarter.^[1] Perception Neuron's Kickstarter campaign proved successful and raised $571,908, more than twice the original goal of $250,000.^[2] In October of that year, Perception Neuron became available for purchase on its website store. Perception Neuron is sold with all hardware including sensors, straps to hold the sensors, and gloves for full hand tracking. The system also includes its own software, Axis Neuron.

Noitom's motion capture technology centers on a 9-axis IMU (inertial measurement unit) sensor that contains a gyroscope, accelerometer, and magnetometer. In the Perception Neuron system, the IMU is referred to as a Neuron or simply, a sensor.

In 2016, Noitom revealed Project Alice^[3], a B2B multi-user, mixed-reality platform and virtual reality solution, at the Silicon Valley Virtual Reality Conference & Expo (SVVR) in San Jose, California.^[4]

In early 2017, Noitom announced the upcoming launch of its set of virtual reality gloves, Hi5 VR Glove, at the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) conference in Las Vegas.^[5] In late 2017, Noitom introduced Perception Neuron PRO,^[6] a more robust version of its original motion capture system developed for professional filmmakers and studios.

History

Noitom was co-founded in Beijing in 2010 by Dr. Haoyang Liu and Dr. Tristan RuoLi Dai. Noitom's primary headquarters are in Beijing with international operations headquarters located in Miami, Florida and affiliate offices in Phoenix, Arizona and Los Angeles, California.
