| 释义 | Nora Johnston is one of the enterprising carillonists from around 1940’s. Johnston was the only English woman carillon player in her days. Carillon was thought to require a high level of physical exertion to play the keys and the pedals that carillon was considered as an instrument for strong men. Nora Johnston yet achieved her diploma at Royal Carillon School in Belgium and pursued to spread carillon in the mid twentieth century. Johnston built her own mobile carillon with bars substituting the bells and travelled throughout England and the United States. |
