}}noVNC is both an open source HTML VNC client JavaScript library and a web application built on top of that library. The web application is designed to work well on all modern browsers on all major platforms, including Android and iOS.^[1] Examples of projects that use noVNC are OpenStack and ThinLinc.^[2]

The project includes two applications.^[3] The first one is a full application with a lot of features that includes solutions for utilizing the on screen keyboard and switching mouse buttons that allows the client to be used on devices with only a touch screen. The second, vnc_lite.html, doesn't include many features, it's main goal is to be an example of a minimal VNC client using the noVNC library.

Requirements

Modern browser, since noVNC uses a lot of modern HTML 5 features. Examples of web browsers that doesn't work are Chrome 48, Firefox 43, Safari 9, IE 10.^[5] Newer versions of these browsers are required.
WebSocket proxy, a proxy between TCP and WebSockets. ^[6] Many VNC servers include such support, like QEMU and LibVNCserver. noVNC also has a sister project called Websockify, which provide this functionality.
