Nudius (pronounced "New-d'-used") is an Filipino semi-rock, semi-punk band formed in Metro Manila around late 2012. It was founded by lead singer and guitarist Ayuk Donato and drummer Angelo Pelipog. Nudius went through a succession of drummers and bassists. Jaime Gomez joined the band in 2016. The current drummer is Jan Ediezca from a death metal band and Jigz Hongayo on guitar, who joined in early January of 2019. They had their start in the underground grunge scene in the Metro. They draw inspiration from early 90's rock bands like Nirvana and Alice in Chains, and it shows in their music. Their sound mainly relies on dynamic contrasts, with often quiet verses then heavy choruses. Nudius plays local gigs around the Metro area, mainly in Makati and Las Piñas area.

Etymology

From Latin nudius tertius, from the phrase nunc dies tertius est (“now is the third day”). Coined by Nathaniel Ward (1578–1652) in The Simple Cobler of Aggawam in America (1647).
